In brief: Ecommerce to boost European bandwidth demand

NEWS Business-to-business ecommerce is set to cause a huge surge in demand for Internet access in Europe over the next two years, according to the latest research from Forrester. Larger firms, piling the pressure on their business partners and suppliers to get online, are driving the demand for new connections. Large companies also account for most of the spending on Internet access. Small and medium sized companies - which make up almost 90 per cent of European businesses - are still opting for simple, low-cost dial-up accounts.
