In brief: SAP eyes US ERP market

NEWS German software group, SAP, claims it will increase its grip on the US enterprise resource planning (ERP) market by 11 per cent by the end of the millennium. SAP currently has a 32 per cent worldwide market share for ERP software, but only holds 29 per cent of the US market. Henning Kagermann, the firm's chief executive, claimed it could expand this to 40 per cent. However, he said results would not reflect these expectations, due to US GAAP accounting standards.
