In brief: Kent firemen get touch screen help from Philips

NEWS Kent Fire Brigade is restructuring its telephone system, so operators can monitor calls more effectively. The system - supplied by Philips Business Communications - allows all emergency calls to be routed through touch screen consoles in the Fire Brigade's control room. According to Commander Derek Lusty, senior divisional officer at the Fire Brigade, Philips was chosen because its products are compatible with the existing telephone infrastructure.
