In brief: Dateline looks to Columbus for database joy

NEWS Dateline, the computer dating agency, has met its perfect match - it has been bought by publishing and information group, Columbus. The number of lonely hearts on Dateline's database has dropped by almost two-thirds from 30,000 in 1992 to 11,000 this year, because of increased competition. But Columbus believes it can reverse the declining trend with improved database management.
