In brief: Hertz drives the future of call centres

NEWS Hertz's virtual call centre for Europe went live this week. The worldwide car rental company has been migrating its European reservation call centres to a greenfield site in Dublin, Ireland, since October last year. The centre has a capacity for 400 agents, including native French, German and Spanish speakers. The system is built on Lucent architecture and has computer telephony, interactive voice recognition and Web enabling facilities.
