In brief: IBM pushes Ohio standard

By Dominic Maher, 20 August 1998 16:28

NEWS IBM and Attachmate are to submit the Open Host Interface Objects (Ohio) standard to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The programming interface aims to allow Web-based applications to integrate data from IBM System/390 mainframes and AS/400s. Once presented to the IETF TN3270 work group, the firms hope the standard will be taken up by developers to assist them in gaining access to mainframe data.
