ICL targets utilities with asset management purchase

By Suzanna Kerridge, 24 August 1998 13:57

NEWS ICL is set to expand the range of asset management tools for utilities following the purchase of a network integration product from Seattle-based Unified Information (UI). ICL says the purchase of the Udb database and hub integration product means utilities will be able to reduce the costs of operations through tighter integration of asset management. The Udb product set monitors a wide range of utility operations including investment planning, maintenance and disposal. According to Stewart Preston, general manager for utilities at ICL, utilities are coming under increasing pressure to reduce operations in the light of distribution price reviews.
