Row erupts over online pub game crash

NEWS Partners in a online lottery pub game have fallen out and appear to be about to take each other to court, after the collapse of the service. UK brewery, Greene King, is claiming that Inter Lotto, which manages the online charity game, Pronto!, owes it over £300,000 in guaranteed commissions. The owners of the pub game - which was suspended two weeks ago due to technical difficulties which caused it to crash up to ten times per day - sub-contracted the work to MMK UK, the telecoms group which provides the network of terminals across the country. MMK UK is disputing its responsibility with BT. Lord Mancroft, chairman of Inter Lotto, insisted that it has fulfilled all its obligations and by doing so has raised over £800,000 for 16 charities. "We are still a solvent business with a licence to do what we do," said Lord Mancroft, adding: "We are the wronged party." A spokesperson for BT said: "Since they have disconnected from the service, action is to be taken to recover cash in excess of £250,000." The spokesperson also confirmed that BT has spoken to MMK UK's legal team. Solicitors for MMK UK issued a statement saying it has fulfilled its side of the contract. MMK UK was unavailable for comment.
