In brief: Smart call system learns customer profiles

NEWS An intelligent call queuing system for banks is just one of the products that has been exhibited at the Financial Technology Expo in New York. Choridant Software has devised a product that forms a profile of the caller. It then uses that information to decide if the caller should queue-jump, what advertisements to play whilst they are waiting and which services the bank employee should pitch when the call gets through. Also exhibited was a phone from Nortel that dispenses digital cash into smartcards.
