NEWS Computer services company Logica has bought US call centre specialist Carnegie for £21m with the aim of expanding its business in North America. Carnegie emerged from Carnegie Mellon University in 1983 to become a key player in the implementation of call centre technologies. Specialist sectors include telecoms, finance and utilities. Important customers include the US Army and Air Force. The aquisition will more than double Logica's North American workforce and underlines the company's plan to focus on IT solutions in that market. Logica claims Carnegie's call centre solutions will slot in well with other recent acquisitions.
