E Centre opens for business

NEWS After eight months of talks, E Centre - the result of a merger between the UK's Electronic Commerce Association (ECA) and the Article Number Association (ANA) - was launched today. Together the group has around 15,000 members and intends to continue advising them on issues surrounding ecommerce. This could include consultancy on anything from numbering and bar coding systems to entire corporate ecommerce strategies. The group has links in high places according to managing director, Alan Boxer, who was speaking at the launch: "E Centre UK will communicate directly with Department of Trade and Industry minister Peter Mandleson through myself and our president, Lord Viscount Chelmsford". E Centre received a resounding endorsement from a number of top UK organisations at the launch including the Boots, British Gas and BT, CCTA.
