IBM wins Novartis outsourcing deal

NEWS Novartis Pharma AG is to outsource IT support for its customer services operations to IBM. The six year deal is worth £57m and will see the Swiss division of the multinational drug company hand over support duties for 5,000 PC users to IBM Global Services. The contract will also cover helpdesk services and IT training for PC users. The move builds on the company's existing agreement with IBM, which already includes an outsourcing contract for IT operations at its Basel headquarters.
