NEWS Information company Dialog today announced profits 285 per cent higher than this time last year. The company also announced details of an ecommerce acquisition. Dialog recorded operating profits of £20m for the past nine months. Chairman Michael Mander attributed the good results to efficiency and an increase in daily users on its Planet Retail services. £6.3m of the profits will be spent on acquiring Write Works, a UK ecommerce developer that specialises in procurement software. Dialog plans to rebrand Write Works technology as Dialog OfficeShopper, for buying office goods. The news puts Dialog on target for expanding its price comparison services into a retail site this winter, as scheduled. The new service will launch at London Olympia's Online show, in early December.
