AT&T lands £15m deal with ICI

NEWS AT&T has signed a five-year, £15m contract with ICI for European data communications services. Following on from the voice telecommunications contract signed in September, AT&T will now provide the chemical giant with a unified managed data network. Richard Sykes, vice president of IT at ICI, explained that the deal came as part of an ongoing relationship with AT&T. He said: "As a company, we like to sign short-term deals of three or five years, so when the contract is up we can review the situation. No-one knows who'll be leading in the communications world in five years." Sykes added: "Following the contracts that AT&T have won, they have become a strong partner. The implementation is well underway and should be finished within the next couple of months."
