NEWS A survey on differences between faxes and email has brought out some earth-shattering differences between the two messaging technologies. A far higher percentage of people would prefer to be ditched by their partner by email rather than by fax. In companies with more than 200 employees, 29 per cent of people would rather receive the elbow by email, against 21 per cent opting to be axed by fax. Possible advantages of email include privacy, the delete facility and the fact that you did not have to suffer the indignity of having your fax read out to the general amusement of the office. Encouragingly, only 2 per cent of those responding to the survey had ever actually dumped someone by either fax or email. The survey was carried out by fax software specialist, Zetafax.
