Somerfield launches intranet dating

NEWS UK supermarket chain, Somerfield, is to introduce an in-house Web site aimed at employees who are on the look out for a partner. The site, will allow the firm's 1,600 staff to post information about themselves - such as sex, physical appearance, hobbies and interests - in order to attract potential partners. A Somerfield statement denied the site will encourage time-wasting; it said people who are happy in their private life will also be happy at work.

If someone has mentioned that it will cause timewasting then I will agree.
I work for somerfield on the isle of wight and the amount of time wasting that goes on there is unbelievable,Overtime bans, short staffing and to top that when it is really busy the dept heads all go outside and have there fags when there are queues at the tills and then come back in and gossip all day and if they had this dating service then they would be talking about that all day.
I know that there is a saying that all work and no play makes Jack(Jill) a dull boy but all playing and talking is causing customers to drop there baskets and walk out of the door and if those baskets are not sorted out quick then the chilled and frozen food will add to your waste,Now that is a huge chain effect from you introducing a dating service.
    Thanks,Simon...
