Norweb rewards good phone manners

NEWS Julia Keenan, a receptionist for vending machine products manufacturer Nichols Foods, has won the receptionist of the year award, in an event sponsored by Norweb Communications. The telco said it hopes to raise awareness of good telephone manner to improve business. Mark Ballett, managing director of Norweb said: "As the first point of contact for an organisation, receptionists and call centre agents can be thought of as the front line ambassadors of business." Keenan, who £10,000 in prize money, said: "I say everything with a smile. I enjoy my job, which makes all the difference."
