NEWS IBM has unveiled a content management tool designed to help businesses develop and manage electronic catalogues on the Web. According to the company, Catalog Architect will simplify the processes needed to update and manage information on the Internet - especially product and sales catalogues. It works through a spreadsheet interface which requires no special training or skills. Catalog Architect is also aimed at businesses which want to personalise content to individual users, as it also promises to create and manage customer profiles. According to IBM, it provides the data needed to create detailed search engines and virtual sales assistants. The product is priced at $3,000 alone or can be bought as part of IBM's Net Commerce Pro commerce server.
