NEWS Sun Microsystems has released a Java browser for set-top boxes and mobile phones, using technology it inherited with the acquisition of Canadian company, Beduin.
Sun said the browser - called the Personal Applications browser - will be used in conjunction with other Sun software to form a suite of tools.
The browser has a zoom feature to help users surf Web pages on small screens and enables them to dial phone numbers directly from hyperlinks.
However, Sun is not the first vendor to offer tiny browsers, Spyglass and PlanetWeb have also produced similar products.
