NEWS IBM has claimed an industry first by launching off-the-shelf software to integrate its ecommerce products with a range of back-end systems. The firm claims IBM Commerce Integrator - based on its MQSeries messaging software - enables firms to easily extend back-end applications over the Web to include partners, suppliers and customers. It ships with ready-made code to link IBM-built ecommerce sites with over 35 popular platforms, including that of ERP (enterprise resource planning) giant, SAP. Commerce Integrator forms part of IBM's Net.Commerce e-business suite, and runs on Windows NT, AIX and Solaris.
