NEWS The uptake of Windows NT in the gas and oil industries is increasing so rapidly, it expects to outnumber Unix by two to one by the end of the year, according to research conducted by US-based Pohlman International. The report also indicated that nearly all gas and oil companies, regardless of size or location, currently use Windows NT in some form. According to John Pohlman 70 to 80 per cent of current Unix applications could be replaced by NT within three years.
