NEWS Sybase today unveiled the 200 companies it is partnering with to deliver e-business applications based on its Enterprise Application Studio 3.0 product suite - also released today. The technology and reseller partners include Entrust Technologies, HydraWeb, IBM, Rational, Deloitte Consulting, Pegasoft and Techsys Computer Associates. Sybase is hoping that end users will be able to build scalable Internet applications quickly by working with these partners. Dimitri Volmann, European marketing manager, Sybase's Internet Applications Division, said in a statement: "For years, our partners and customers have worked closely with Sybase to build a broad range of enterprise applications. With the new enhancements to Enterprise Application Server, Power J and PowerBuilder we are continuing to provide our partners with the new technology they need to quickly and easily deliver the next generation of e-business applications." Rival database vendor Informix also stressed its commitment to e-business last week, with the launch of an ecommerce package, i-Sell, which it says is deployable by marketing departments. The company claims that i-Sell requires very little technical expertise, as Informix's partners are on hand to provide support services. They include integrators such as Sun and Valtech UK, and business Internet service provider, Planet Online.
