ERP vendors improve quality of service

NEWS Anyone looking to purchase an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system in the next few years can expect more help with implementation from the vendor itself, according to the latest research from Dataquest. The report says services comprise of up to two-thirds of the total cost of an ERP implementation and vendors are now pouring more energy into providing those services - rather than relying on outsourcers. Dataquest also predicted that the worldwide ERP market would expand from $25.4bn in 1998 to $97bn by 2003.
