NEWS LIS Warehouse Systems is to make its warehouse management system available on Linux. The firm said it has converted Dispatcher-CS version 5.0 to Linux to allow users to take advantage of reduced license and maintenance costs. An LIS statement praised Linux for its performance and reliability. A spokesman said: "It is clear that the market is looking for an Intel-based system more stable than Windows NT - we believe that Linux might be that system." Dispatcher-CS is already certified for SAP's R/3 Enterprise resource planning system and will now run on the Linux version of R/3.
