NEWS ICL has picked up a £750,000 contract from Caerphilly County Borough Council to connect local schoolchildren and teachers to the UK's National Grid for Learning. The services giant will supply and install structured cabling systems and network equipment for 110 schools in the area. The company will also provide the hardware and software to create an education intranet and give approximately 30,000 pupils and teachers email and Internet access. ICL will ensure the system is fully Year 2000 compliant.
