Datawarehousing faces bright future

NEWS Corporate demand for customer relationship management (CRM) and ecommerce solutions will create a knock-on surge in demand for datawarehousing products, according to software vendor, MicroStrategy. The prediction came at the company's annual summit in Washington late Friday. Companies are demanding more sophisticated uses of corporate data and will need more datawarehousing to help them stand out from their competitors, said company officials. Another trend highlighted at the summit was the tendency for corporations to build datawarehouses around customer data rather than product data as they become more customer services-focused.
