Intentia helps Newell Rubbermaid link up Euro operations

NEWS ERP (enterprise resource planning) software vendor Intentia has been awarded a £4.3m contract by US consumer goods company, Newell Rubbermaid. Intentia's Movex ERP system - offering financial, manufacturing and distribution applications - will replace existing disparate systems to integrate the company's manufacturing and sales offices throughout Europe. John Avampato, vice president of corporate information systems at Newell Rubbermaid, said the company's European expansion from a £125m to £625m operation made the ERP roll out necessary. He explained it was "vital to have a centralised IT infrastructure that enables us to integrate these businesses quickly and apply common management disciplines and procedures".
