NAO warns of Y2K gas disruptions

NEWS The head of the UK National Audit Office, John Bourn, has told Parliament to expect severe material disruption to gas supplies over the New Year period because of the millennium bug. In his report on the level of Y2K readiness in public services, Bourn said a substantial amount of work needed to be done in this area before the risk could be eliminated. However, four other sectors were also 'named and shamed' including healthcare services and the police force.
