Chromatron splashes out on high-heat cheap chips

NEWS German company, Chromatron Laser System, has signed a $180,000 order for Semiconductor Laser International's (SLI) latest 7W High Heat Load chip package. SLI, based in Binghamton, New York, specialises in the development and manufacture of high-power semiconductor diode lasers at a low cost. The company's 7W High Heat Load, Single Chip, High Brightness Diode Laser recently won the 1999 new product award at The Optical Society of America's annual laser industry event.
