NEWS Deloitte & Touche has teamed up with specialist software company, Adaytum Software, to create a UK consultancy service for planning and budgeting systems. The partnership will see Adaytum, which specialises in budgeting, planning and forecasting software, offer its customers advice and help from the consultancy giant. Ten Deloitte & Touche consultants have already completed training in Adaytum's planning software and a further ten will be fully trained over the next few months. Mike Hartley, chief operational operating officer at Adaytum, said his company was "riding the wave" of the rapidly growing software planning sector. "Spreadsheet software was invented 20 years ago, so everyone knows how to use it and everyone has it. It may be painful and stupid, but we stick with it because it's all we know," he said. Hartley added that the agreement would help customers make the move to Adaytum's more flexible software. Adaytum customers include Lucent Technologies, British Aerospace, Vodafone and Orange.
