BEA Systems gets Italian job

NEWS Middleware provider, BEA Systems, has won a contract to supply the Italian Ministry of Finance with middleware architecture that will support the installation of its land registry system. The Ministry is aiming to migrate from the current database setup which is only used by internal staff via a Web-based system. BEA Systems will implement a three tier client-server system which it claims will allow remote access to authorised users. The system will now be shared across 103 land registry offices and accessed by an estimated 5,000 users. This level of use will require constant availability and reliable response times which BEA Systems says it can guarantee.
