London Electricity goes west

NEWS London Electricity has bought the electricity supply business of Sweb, the south-west England regional electricity company, for £160m. Sweb's supply arm serves 1.3 million electricity consumers. Brian Lescour, chairman of London Electricity, said the move is part of the firm's bid to become a major player in the UK energy market. The deal awaits regulatory approval.
