Samsung debuts CTI package

NEWS Samsung Telecoms has rolled out a two-in-one computer telephony integration (CTI) package called SmartCTI, which promises to link telephones with productivity applications such as Microsoft Outlook. The first component of the package, Smart Display, CTI-enables Tapi (telephony application programming interface) or TAPI2-compliant applications such as Goldmine, Outlook, and Schedule+. It means PCs connected to a Samsung DCS (Distributed Communications System) handset will present caller details as calls are received. The second aspect of the product is Smart Control, which allows users to do on-screen dialling, conferencing and speed dialling, as well as take calls on their PCs.
