JD Edwards buys Numetrix

NEWS Enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendor, JD Edwards has acquired Numetrix, a company that produces Internet-enabled supply chain software, for $80m. Numetrix products will be integrated with existing JD Edwards offerings. The ERP software vendor is trying to increase its presence in the business-to-business ecommerce market by offering products that link up customers, suppliers and trading partners in enterprise networks. Numetrix products are currently being used in about 1,500 installations.
