KAP/Pro comes to Solaris

NEWS Kuck & Associates is to launch its KAP/Pro Toolset for OpenMP development tool for Sun Microsystems' Solaris operating system. The toolset is based on the OpenMP application programming standard, making it easier for developers to add parallel threading to existing applications, including bindings for Fortran, C and C++. Shahin Khan, director of marketing for the data centre and high performance computing products group at Sun, claimed users in supply chain and bioinformatics sectors will now be able to develop large multiprocessing applications on Sun machines.
