Robotics firm makes US acquisition

NEWS European robotics specialist, Robotic Technology Systems (RTS), has acquired US-based software firm, Enabling Technology for £1.9m. RTS, which specialises in industrial automation and supplies Internet solutions to the engineering industry, said it made the acquisition to grow its presence in the US market. Enabling Technologies has a strong background in marketing and sales, which RTS hopes will help it push its products further into the US industrial and automation sectors. RTS also announced a series of contract wins for its divisions around Europe. RTS Finland has signed a £330,000 deal with Volvo Aero Corporation for a robot milling system, while RTS Cheos has won a contract with British Nuclear Fuels.
