Flextronics completes ERP roll-out

NEWS Multinational manufacturing outfit, Flextronics, has completed a 1,000 seat roll-out of a Baan ERP (enterprise resource planning) package in under 18 months. The $1.8bn company, which has 18,000 employees worldwide, implemented the package across 18 divisions throughout operations in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. In an attempt to create even greater efficiencies, Flextronics is also working to implement E-Collaboration - an element of the Baan E-Enterprise product group - to further reduce the amount of time it takes to complete customer production runs and the amount of inventory it stores on site.
