NEWS Knowledge management giant, Oracle, this week announced a sideways step into Web content provision and hosting with its plans for a business-to-business online marketplace. Oracle Exchange is due to be launched later this year and will be available to any business, regardless of whether it is an Oracle customer or not. According to the company, it will provide an exchange for buyers and suppliers to do business across a range of vertical and horizontal markets. As part of the announcement, Oracle also unveiled content and related service agreements with over 260 suppliers including barnesandnoble.com, BT Office Products, Compaq and Dun & Bradstreet.
