Compaq reveals unified-messaging service

NEWS Compaq, in partnership with TelePost, is offering a free unified-messaging service aimed at small and medium-sized businesses. The Message Centre Lite service will allow customers to store emails, voice mail and faxes in a central Web site and access them through a browser. The privately held TelePost, funded by European investors, owns and hosts the message centre and works in tandem with its partners, who in turn receive a commission each time they bring in a customer who uses more than just the free service.
