Old Siemens plant to house Orange call centre

NEWS Orange is to invest £20m in establishing three call centres in the North of England, a move which is expected to create 2,000 jobs for the region. One of the centres will be temporarily housed in the former Siemens plant in North Tyneside, which was closed in July last year. It will then transfer to the Cobalt Business Park when the company's customer service centre is completed there next March. Meanwhile Darlington will accommodate a dedicated business customer service operation. All three centres are scheduled to be fully functional by April 2000.
