Allied Signal finalises $400m AT&T outsourcing deal

NEWS Manufacturing conglomerate, Allied Signal, has outsourced its entire telecommunications operations to AT&T Solutions. The deal, which is thought to be worth in the region of $400m, will see AT&T Solutions - a subsidiary of giant US telco AT&T - managing the company's voice and data networks across the globe. Allied Signal claims the decision to outsource also ties in with the need to standardise its communication technology across its worldwide operations in preparation for moves towards ecommerce. The deal involves almost 400 sites across 19 countries throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia.
