NEWS The Sun-Netscape Alliance has upgraded two of its ecommerce packages and bundled them with Netscape's Directory Server in an attempt to help organisations integrate internal business processes with their Web operations. The Alliance has upgraded the Netscape Application Server and ecommerce application ECXpert to create a new offering, the iPlanet Ecommerce Integration Suite. This provides out-of-the-box integration with enterprise systems (including Tuxedo, MQSeries, CICS and IMS), as well as ERP applications, and also contains tools for building custom programs. The suite supports XML, HTTP, FTP, electronic data interchange Internet integration (EDIINT) and Odette File Transfer Protocol (OFTP). It should ship in November.
