Scottish Power to restructure telecom arm

NEWS Scottish Power is set to announce plans for a partial demerger of Scottish Telecom. Reports on Reuters suggest the move to separate its telecom arm could happen as soon as 21 September. Goldman Sachs was appointed in February to explore the options for increasing shareholder return from voice, data, call centres and online access services. According to industry analysts, Scottish Telecom has an estimated value of between £1-2bn.
