Government insider predicts appointment of two e-envoys

NEWS The government will receive not one but two ecommerce champions, according to inside sources who spoke to Silicon.com today. It's now known that the eagerly awaited e-envoy position will soon be filled by Alex Allan, the High Commissioner to the Commonwealth of Australia. Unfortunately, Allan is little known for his propensity towards ecommerce matters. The second e-minister position is rumoured to be given to none other than disgraced former DTI-chief, Peter Mandelson, whose early campaigning for the development of UK's emerging ecommerce sector has clearly paid off. The announcements are expected to be made in Patricia Hewitt's publication of the ecommerce taskforce's (Performance & Innovation Unit) first report.
