Football managers get Intranet from Cisco

NEWS The League Managers Association (LMA) today confirmed it has entered into a partnership with Cisco Systems to create an intranet for UK football managers. Cisco says the ultimate aim is to allow transfer deals to take place on the network, whilst the LMA says it will also improve basic communication among the 92 English league clubs. Cisco has agreed to provide the LMA with 110 laptops at an initial investment of £200,000. The company is also in discussions with an unnamed ISP to help develop the LMA Web site and will eventually complete a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to allow football managers and the LMA to communicate securely.
