EC experts head-up Rome ecommerce summit

NEWS Rome this week plays host to a three-day summit on electronic commerce, which will see experts from the European Commission explain their theories on how to maximise profits online. Bror Salmelin, the EC's head of digital markets, Anotonio Conte, scientific officer, and Patrick Vittet-Philippe, expert advisor, will offer the benefit of their experience in a Brussels session tomorrow morning. Today, suppliers including IBM, JD Edwards, Oracle and SAP present their ecommerce offerings. On Friday, Carla Hendra from OgilvyOne and Guido Jouret, IS Manager for Cisco Europe, will offer advice on best practice. The summit, organised by Connect, is aimed at all online retailers.
