Sainsbury's launches Verity-improved intranet system

NEWS Supermarket giant, Sainsbury's, has unveiled an intranet which will link employees and suppliers for the first time to the same workflow and supply chain systems. Knowledge management specialist, Verity, fought off Autonomy and IBM to win the contract which involves the installation of its Information Server software to support advanced knowledge retrieval facilities over the intranet. Mark Blackman, Sainsbury's intranet manager, said staff had been unable to use the previous intranet because it had become quickly overloaded with information. He insisted the new setup will allow employees and suppliers to navigate and search more easily.
