NEWS Ahead of Action 2000's National Infrastructure Forum next week, Ofwat has announced that all water and sewarage companies in England and Wales have been independently assessed as millennium-ready. Under the Action 2000 traffic light system, assessors Halcrow Gilbert rated all companies in the blue category, meaning that no material risk of disruption has been identified. Ofwat's director general, Ian Byatt, said the companies had all been rated blue at the last assessment in June, but now the additional test in September has confirmed that status.
