Asda site sniffs out online bargains

NEWS UK supermarket Asda has launched its first Internet shopping service, branded as 'Captain Value Mad'. The site offers a search facility which compares Asda prices with those of its online competitors. The company is focusing primarily on non-perishable items such as books, videos, software and travel services. Asda also plans to offer a 'Wow of the week' - the top bargain found by its search engine in the last seven days, regardless of whether it's on its own site or not.
