Lotus to release Domino for Linux

By Sarah Left, 22 October 1999 18:36

NEWS Lotus will release Domino/Notes R5 for Linux at Lotusphere in Berlin next week, according to reports in TechWeb. The report quotes an unnamed source inside the company as confirming the long-awaited release. In August, Lotus' worldwide general manager for SmartSuite, Jim Burnham, promised that the Domino Web server for Linux would be available before the end of the year. Lotus CEO, Jeff Papows, also announced earlier this year that his company would drop Novell's latest operating system, Netware 5, in favour of the open source platform.
